My work in the travel amenities industry occasionally involves international travel. A recent voyage in early summer included a trip to southern France, west of Toulouse (in Gers, Midi-Pyrénées region) for a factory tour. The family that owns the factory lives in a castle-like home from the late 18th century with a beautiful guest cottage. The view from my window was incredible.
Sunflowers are everywhere, planted across hillsides stretching as far the eye can see. The drive into the factory the next morning was a blur of yellow and green.
At the end of the day, I was invited to dinner on the patio with three generations of the family. As I walked up the drive, this incredible wall of lavender presented itself. Makes you want to build an ancient wall as a backdrop!
